Java Finches AVIARY

In store we have a variety of aviary Java Finches available ! 

Java Finches can be available in a few different mutations, some common mutations include white, cream, silver, and pastel. Give us a ring to clarify what we have available at any time.  

Java Finches are a large-sized finch native to Indonesia. They are sturdy looking birds, around 5 to 5.5 inches in length and around 20-22 grams. Small, beautiful, and quiet, the Java finch has been trendy as a cage and aviary bird for many years. These birds require a "hands-off" approach to bird ownership, which is why they are a wonderful choice for both young and older bird owners who want a bird that is easy to care for.

Java finches are known to be a very hardy species and rarely fall ill if cared for properly.  They can live from 5-10 years. 

Although these birds have become famous for eating rice in the wild, their regular diet consists typically of seeds and fruits. Java finches should be fed a good, high-quality finch seed mix. You can also offer your finches fruits such as apple, pear, figs and paw paw, greens like seeding grasses, Lebanese cucumber, silver beet, chickweed and endive and even live food such as meal worms. They should have access to water at all times.
